Frequently Asked Concrete Leveling Questions
How does concrete leveling work?
At JW Mudjacking, we offer a couple of types of concrete leveling services. One is mudjacking, which uses a concrete mixture to level area; the other is polyjacking, which relies on a polyurethane mixture. Both types of materials are used the same way: small holes are drilled into the uneven concrete area, the mixture is inserted below until the concrete levels out, then the holes are refilled. While the polyurethane mixture dries more quickly than mud, both usually dry within 3 hours and then you can walk or drive on the repaired area.
What’s the difference between mudjacking and polyjacking?
If you need your concrete leveled, you have a couple of options for how to do so: mudjacking or polyjacking. Mudjacking uses a concrete slurry mixture to fill the space beneath concrete until it becomes level, while polyjacking uses a quick expanding foam product to produce the same results. Polyjacking is more efficient and eco-friendly, but also comes at a higher price tag. Give JW a call today to chat about which strategy is best for you.
What surfaces can be concrete leveled?
At JW Mudjacking, we proudly offer high-quality, great value concrete leveling for all areas of your home or business, including driveways, sidewalks, garage floors, warehouse foundations, concrete steps, and much, much more. If you notice sinking or uneven concrete, don’t replace it – give JW Mudjacking a call today!
How long until I can use the area being leveled?
Concrete leveling is an efficient way to fix interior or exterior concrete slabs without waiting days for new concrete to dry. Depending on the scope of the project and the materials used, concrete leveling projects usually dry within a few hours.
Can you level decorative concrete?
Yes! At JW Mudjacking, we fix all types of decorative concrete with minimally noticeable or invisible results. We do our best to match color and pattern and use minimally invasive procedures so your space looks as good as new.
What is your concrete leveling service area?
We proudly offer customers in Lodi and communities across Wisconsin quality mudjacking and concrete leveling services.
How long does concrete leveling last?
Polyjacking is a concrete leveling solution that will last indefinitely, while mudjacking lasts about a decade. The one element of ongoing maintenance you will need to consider is filling cracks in the surface concrete so the soil underneath and around the polyurethane does not erode.
Why should I worry about uneven concrete?
It may not seem like a big deal, but uneven concrete affects more than just the look of your home or property. Aside from being a tripping hazard, uneven concrete can put pressure on a building’s foundation, which can lead to cracks, moisture seepage, and mold. Concrete leveling is a (relatively) quick and effective way to avoid these issues while restoring the overall look of your property.
Why shouldn’t I just replace my concrete?
Concrete leveling takes less time and significantly less labor than removing and replacing concrete. Aside from the time you save waiting for new concrete to dry, the cost of labor for concrete leveling comes in at about half that of concrete replacement. While not all areas can be repaired using concrete leveling techniques, it is worth it to get a professional opinion before you decide on concrete replacement.
How much does concrete leveling and polyjacking cost?
The total cost of a mudjacking or polyjacking project depends on a number of different factors. Give us a call today to schedule a consultation and estimate.
